Abstract
Startups are rapidly growing business entities that operate in highly competitive and dynamic environments. In such organizations, the role of Human Resource (HR) management has evolved significantly from traditional administrative functions to a more strategic role. The evolving role of HR in startups focuses on building a strong organizational culture, attracting and retaining talented employees, and supporting business growth. Unlike established organizations, startups often face unique challenges such as limited financial resources, high employee turnover, lack of formal HR policies, and the need for flexible workforce management. Therefore, HR professionals in startups must adopt innovative approaches to recruitment, training, performance management, and employee engagement. This study explores the changing responsibilities of HR in startup organizations and highlights the key
challenges and opportunities associated with this transformation. HR departments in startups play a crucial role in developing a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, and aligning employee goals with organizational objectives. At the same time, startups provide opportunities for HR to implement modern practices such as digital HR tools, flexible work policies, and creative talent management strategies. The study also examines how effective HR practices contribute to organizational success by improving employee productivity, motivation, and job satisfaction. By understanding the evolving role of HR, startups can better manage their human capital and achieve sustainable growth. Overall, this research emphasizes that HR is not just a support function but a strategic partner that helps startups overcome challenges and take advantage of emerging opportunities in a rapidly changing business environment.
