ABSTRACT
In the contemporary epoch of globalization, the planet has become progressively
interconnected due to advancements in technology, communication, and trade practices. This
intricate interconnectedness has facilitated a closer relationship among individuals, cultures,
and nations than ever previously experienced; however, it has concurrently engendered
multifaceted global challenges such as climate change, socioeconomic inequality, migration
issues, and conflicts. Within this framework, the notion of global citizenship has acquired
substantial importance. Global citizenship underscores an affiliation with a larger human
community that transcends national borders, advocating for principles such as empathy,
appreciation for diversity, social justice, and collective responsibility. It prompts individuals
to contemplate global issues while engaging in local actions, thus promoting collaboration
and comprehension across diverse cultures. Education aimed at fostering global citizenship is
vital for cultivating responsible and active global citizens capable of contributing to
sustainable development and peace initiatives. Consequently, in the context of globalization,
the nurturing of global citizenship is not merely advantageous—it is imperative for the
establishment of a more equitable, inclusive, and harmonious global society.
