IMPACT OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY ON ACADEMIC LIBRARY SERVICES IN INDIA
Author: Rohit Appasaheb Patil

Abstract
Libraries have long been endless sources of information for students - for centuries this involved row after row of books. However, the face of libraries is changing as content is moving toward a digital platform and Internet access is becoming more of a human necessity than a privilege. This article presents an evaluation of the impact of digital technologies in the transformation of academic library services. It begins with a brief overview of the historical development of academic libraries followed by a discussion of current challenges and opportunities for academic libraries. It also discusses innovative technological developments for learning, data management and
the impact of these on the academic library sector, including the need for library staff to develop new skills and roles such as “embedded” librarian roles. The article concludes with reflections on future developments and the impact of digital technological utilities. It's clear that the library has been a valuable institution for academic purposes as long as pen has been put to paper. However, the library and its role in academic research are no doubt going through a clear transformation in the 21st century.

SENTIMENT ANALYSIS OF USER REVIEW TEXT USING CNN AND LSTM TECHNIQUES
Author: Sarika Tuli

Abstract
Sentiment analysis, a process of natural language processing, is gaining popularity these days due to hike in the number of Internet users. The Internet users put up their opinions in the form of reviews regarding some contexts like products, services, government, politics, medicine, and entertainment world to name a few. The evaluation of correct sentiments out of web text is one of the main focuses of business houses or large organizations. Several machine learning approaches are used to address the issue of sentiment prediction from raw web text. This paper contributes to the existing methods by proposing a combination of convolutional neural networks and long-short-term-memory network for evaluation of appropriate sentiments. Two open source datasets are extracted in the pre-processing phase of
proposed model. The major contribution of this research work comes from the preprocessing phase of data where a novel zero-padding method is used for normalization of word features before configuring neural networks. The proposed system outperforms the baseline classifiers almost 13% higher than the best performed baseline system for the first dataset and 3% improvement in accuracy is observed for the second dataset.

IMPLICATIONS AND CHALLENGES OF DIGITALIZATION IN ACADEMIC LIBRARIES: A STUDY
Author: Avni Yadav & Arun Kumar Modak

Abstract
The advent of information and communication technology (ICT) has made
imperative that library holdings must be both in digital format and traditional
format. Converting the analog library holdings to digital format is indeed a
herculean task. This paper discusses these challenges and proffered solutions. Digitization as a method of preservation is now a global phenomenon as well as the new trend in managing a library collection especially precious ones among academic libraries. This paper discusses the reasons for digitization and also explains the processes and methodology of digitization. Issues and challenges involved in the process of digitization are also highlighted. Such major deterrents in the project include legal aspect and finances. Other factors are also discussed and the ways forward to the hindrances highlighted. This paper establishes that there are
challenges militating against the digitization of academic libraries and concludes with the remarks that although digitization is a challenge still information professionals/librarians must meet with the practical skills and the vision to implement it in a controlled and manageable fashion.
